Acne is never a friend to anyone; I personally have been battling with acne ever since I entered my teens. I wouldn't call it severe but yes, definitely noticeable.

During my rigorous hunt for a solution, I came across a brand Cetaphil, at my local pharmacy. ‘’Acne-Prone” was the one feature that tempted me to pick it off the shelf and give it a shot. I have tried many products that claim ‘acne-prone’ in the past, and I have had mixed feelings about them; seeing it as a new product, I thought I’d add this to me “ Tried It” collection.
I mostly have something called a ‘combination skin’; meaning, some areas of my face are oily and others tend to stay dry. Trying to find a solution is always more work that I wouldn’t want to put into my regular morning routine. The pharmacist recommended I use the Cetaphil Dermacontrol Oil Control Foam Wash and Oil-free facial moisturizer (SPF 30) formulated for acne prone skin.
I've been using this product for over 2 months now, and I have found the foam wash to make my face extremely dry. It feels tight on the skin and causes slight redness, which I can eventually sooth out with some moisturizer. To be honest, the face wash did not live up to my expectation and reduce my acne entirely, on the contrary it also did not make it any worse. It did however personally dry out my skin more.

The moisturizer on the other hand; was different. When used after the foam wash, or even by itself, it hydrated the skin just enough to take away the greasy look. However, it did not make a drastic difference to my skin before and after using the product.
To sum up this review, in the few months of using the product, it did not give me the results I was hoping for, but this can vary from person to person, so it is worth trying it for yourself; if you are like me fighting the acne fight. I would certainly like to try out the other options from the Cetaphil collection; following a few positive reviews of those who have used it, the brand has attracted my attention and I might write a few reviews on other products from this brand.
What does everyone think? Has Cetaphil solved your problems? Did you get the result you were looking for ? We would love to hear your thoughts about Cetaphil Dermacontrol Oil Control Foam Wash and Oil-free facial moisturizer (SPF 30) formulated for acne prone skin and maybe other cetaphil products.
